This project almost killed me, but at the same time left me craving more... I have what I like to call ' plushie-maker's fingers ' where my fingertips are more holes than skin from the number of times I pricked myself. I used NO machines at all, it is 110% hand crafted.
A good 25 hours of crafting went into this over the course of about a week, fitted in around both working on my dissertation and a casual job as well as keeping afloat a fairly active social life, but I am extremely proud of how he came out. It is probably the best thing I've ever made in fabric to date. He's made mostly from cotton jersey and white cotton sheet fabric, with the clothes made of polycotton, felt and PVC. The hair is made from a cheap wig which I unpicked and meticulously stitched on. Small details were painted in acrylic, which works very well. He's fairly large, probably just over a foot in height.
I plan to cosplay as Timcanpy at one of the summer conventions and carry him round with me. Irony is great ^^
Huggable, snuggable bishie XD I have plenty of fabric left over to make maybe another three-four of these, plus some smaller ones. I plan to make myself Edward Elric next
Another small perk is that all the clothes are removable, but the plushie is as anatomically correct as a Ken doll. Still, didn't stop me telling friends on MSN that I had a 'nudey nudey bishie' on my desk ^^
NO WAY IN HELL AM I GOING TO MAKE THESE ON COMMISSION! Sorry people, I'm just not. I sourced the basic patterns from this site
if you're interested in trying to craft one of your own, but bear in mind I had to perform some heavy customisation on the clothing.
